I’m Stuart “Swilly” Williams. Growing up with older brothers who were into their Punk music obviously had me enjoying the likes of the Sex Pistols, Stiff Little Fingers and the Buzzcocks etc. Then at about the age of 10 another brother introduced me to the world of Heavy Metal !! Saxon’s Wheels of Steel blew me away then listening to Iron Maiden got me gripped and they’re most probably still my favourite band, best song for me is Phantom Of The Opera – love playing it on the bass!.

I’ve always found photos and the memories that you get from them appealing from family photos especially of the kids playing football to local life. But when possible I took a camera to concerts. Now I am putting the two things together, enjoying the gigs and taking the pics too. Mainly it’s  music but enjoy covering events too and after joining Rhyl Photographic Society expanding my range continously. It’s an expensive past time and you need an understanding family (who put up with you when you think you’ve caught a good pic!). The other important thing is to make friends. Most people are happy to have their pic taken so try not to get on their nerves! I’ve met some good people who have really helped me on my way. Try to repay favours, it goes a long way.
